Recommending tags
Another form of controlled subject headings
- For conferences to share pictures from an event
- For classes to share recommended websites among class members
- For librarians within a particular community, working at difference libraries, to share recommended websites
- For research professionals and subject specialists to recommend online resources to libraries and library patrons
Subject tagging for journals
Yukon College Library's Library Journals List (LjL)
- Main introductory page with instructions
- Direct link: http://cufts2.lib.sfu.ca/CJDB/YCLIB/browse
- Replaces the old system of multiple binders holding printed lists holdings from each database and an MS Excel spreadsheet of printed journal collection provided by the Serials Technician.
- Uses the open source software CJDB software from SFU
- Allows library patrons to create an account and tag journals
- Used by subject specialists, particularly Instructors, in specific areas to create their own collection of recommended journals not already provided by the software through the hierarchical listing by subject.
